British Railway Players & Progression
Understand roles, Coins, and how crews share responsibility on Fourth Rail’s network.
The Players Hub explains who you are in British Railway on Roblox—and how that identity earns Coins. Fourth Rail’s experience is released and online: you will share stations with strangers and friends as a Driver, Guard, or Passenger. This hub links role theory to economy pages so progression stays coherent across the wiki.
Core pages
- Roles overview — side-by-side responsibilities, controls touchpoints, and when to switch roles mid-session.
- Coins and shop — score payouts, Guard tickets, Passenger income, Robux purchases, and spending order.
- Ticket checking — Guard ticket and railcard flow after the Coastal Update improvements without blocking doors.
Deep skill guides live under the Guides Hub: how to drive, how to guard, how to earn coins, signals and SPAD, and controls.
Role snapshot
Driver — Owns throttle (W/S), brake (A/D, E), much of traction setup (P, O), and signal obedience. Score engine of the route (+10 per stop, penalties for speeding, SPAD, skips, ignored AWS).
Guard — Owns platform procedure, whistle (H), signal bell (Y), tickets, and Looking For Guard style pairing after version 1.4. Adds ~+2 score per stop and personal Coin loops.
Passenger — Owns curiosity and six Coins per stop. Best tutorial role and best “learn the map” role.
Economy snapshot
Coins fund trains and cosmetics. No active promo codes right now—see Codes Hub. Partial payout exists when leaving early with score above ten. Shop philosophy and anti-impulse notes sit in coins and shop. Quick numbers: score and penalties.
Progression loop we recommend
- Getting started
- Passenger ride → short Driver route → Guard listing
- Earn toward a sensible unlock on the trains tier list
- Pick diagrams via the routes tier list
- Re-read updates when doors or signals change
Social layer
British Railway is better with crews. Use Discord discord.gg/fourthrail, the Fourth Rail Roblox group, and in-game Friends / Looking For Guard tools. Link pack: wiki. We are an unofficial fan site (britishrailway.wiki), separate from Fandom’s wiki.
What this hub is not
It is not a leaderboard of famous players, and it is not a script catalogue. If you are tempted by autofarm claims, read scripts first. Legitimate roles already contain a full game.

Session archetypes
Learner session: Passenger geography, then a short Driver attempt, then debrief with signals and SPAD. Income session: Guard-assisted locals from the routes tier list, bank Coins, refuse impulse liveries. Social session: Friends Guard listings after Discord party-up, swap roles mid-evening so everyone practices doors and throttle. Patch session: Read version 1.4 notes, test one class door procedure, only then attempt Brynmouth.
These archetypes keep the Players Hub practical instead of abstract. Pick one before you spawn.
Responsibility toward other roles
Drivers who never thank Guards train the server to stop guarding. Guards who spam bells train Drivers to mute cues. Passengers who bait unsafe departures create SPADs for everyone. Progression is social even when Coins look individual. The roles overview page expands duties; this hub exists to remind you that the network is shared.
Keep controls and score and penalties nearby whenever you switch roles mid-session so you do not carry the wrong mental model into the next cab or brake van.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for British Railway drivers, guards, and passengers.
Which role earns the most Coins?
Competent Driver–Guard pairings usually outperform Passenger-only play; exact totals depend on stops and penalties.
Can I switch roles in one session?
Yes. Many players Passenger first, Drive second, and Guard when listings need them.
Where is shop advice?
See Coins and Shop under this hub, plus the earn-coins guide for income methods.
Do players need codes to progress?
No. Codes are inactive now; roles and routes are the real progression path.
