British Railway Tier Lists
Prioritise trains and routes for learning, Coins, and fun on Fourth Rail’s network.
Welcome to the Tier List Hub for British Railway on Roblox by Fourth Rail. These lists are unofficial opinion tools for spending Coins wisely and picking routes that match your skill. They are not developer rankings. Mechanics stay grounded in the live game: online co-op roles (Driver, Guard, Passenger), score-based Coins, and post–version 1.4 stock such as Class 150, 230, and 180 plus the Brynmouth coastal extension.
What you will find here
- Trains tier list — which units to unlock early for learning, which shine for comfortable scored runs, and which are “buy when you love them” flex picks.
- Routes tier list — beginner-friendly diagrams versus high-attention coastal or busy patterns, with notes on Guard value and Passenger stop density.
Use both together. A top-tier train on a nightmare route still SPADs. A gentle route in awkward stock still teaches.
How we tier (criteria)
Trains: brake readability, door procedure complexity after class-specific rules, traction chores (pantograph P, bi-mode O), suitability for new Drivers, and fun factor for veterans.
Routes: signal density after the v1.4 signalling rework, station count for +10 score ticks and Guard ticket potential, length versus attention span, and scenic payoff.
We assume legitimate play—no autofarm scripts (scripts). We also assume you know desktop defaults from controls.
Who should use which list first
Brand new? Read getting started and roles overview before spending. Then open the routes tier list to pick a kind first diagram, and only then browse trains.
Returning for v1.4? Skim signals and SPAD because ghosting and aspects changed, then check which new trains are worth your saved Coins on the trains tier list.
Coin-focused crews should cross-link how to earn coins and how to guard—route stop density often matters more than top speed.
Spending Coins without regret
Coins come from route score, Guard procedures/tickets, Passenger six-per-stop income, or Robux shop purchases—not from active promo codes right now (Codes Hub). Partial payouts exist if you leave early with score above ten, but they are a safety net, not a farm design.
Shop framing: coins and shop. Penalty awareness: score and penalties.
Community disagreement is normal
Someone will always main a “low tier” unit because it feels like home. Good. Tier lists are priority guides for scarce Coins, not morality. Argue with evidence in Discord (discord.gg/fourthrail) and bring patch notes from the Updates Hub.
This fan site (britishrailway.wiki) is separate from the Fandom wiki; see wiki for how we relate to official links and community spaces.
Suggested path through this hub
- Read this hub’s criteria.
- Open routes tier list and pick tonight’s diagram.
- Open trains tier list and spend only if your current stock blocks that plan.
- Review how to drive if the tier notes mention attention or braking difficulty.
- Return after the next patch—tiers move when signalling or door rules move.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for British Railway drivers, guards, and passengers.
Are these official Fourth Rail rankings?
No. They are unofficial fan priorities for unlocks and practice, updated with community experience.
Should I buy a top-tier train immediately?
Not before you can stop cleanly and read signals. Skill multiplies train value.
Do routes tiers consider Guard income?
Yes—stop density and procedure opportunities influence Coin-focused rankings.
Will v1.4 trains always be top tier?
New Class 150/230/180 stock is important, but tier position still depends on doors, braking, and your routes.
