British Railway Routes Tier List

Routes decide whether British Railway feels like a teacher or a SPAD machine. This unofficial routes tier list for Fourth Rail’s Roblox experience ranks diagram types by learning value, Coin potential, and attention demand—especially after version 1.4 signalling/ghosting changes and the Brynmouth coastal extension. Cross-check trains on the trains tier list and return to the Tier List Hub for criteria.

S-tier learning routes

Short-to-medium multi-stop locals: High density of +10 score opportunities, frequent Guard procedure/ticket cycles, and enough signals to practice without marathon fatigue. Ideal after getting started. You can leave early with score >10 for partial payout if something breaks, but these routes rarely need that safety net when driven calmly.

They also teach OFF-indicator departure patience and class door timing without coastal windscreen tourism distracting you.

A-tier Coin crew routes

Busier suburban patterns with reliable Passenger loads: Best for Driver–Guard pairs using Looking For Guard / Friends / Other. Guard income (5 Coins per stop procedure + up to 40 from tickets at 4 each) scales with stops; Drivers gain ~+2 score per stop from a present Guard. Read how to guard and how to earn coins.

If your goal is unlock funding for Class 150 / 230 / 180, run these before scenic flex routes.

B-tier scenic and coastal

Brynmouth coastal extension and similar showpiece runs: Gorgeous, great for content and Passenger sightseeing (Passengers still earn 6 Coins per stop). Demanding for new Drivers because Proceed temptations meet unfamiliar sighting after the signalling rework. Bring signals and SPAD knowledge and consider a Guard even if you “usually solo.”

Tier them B for Coins-per-stress, S for vibes.

C-tier until you are ready

Long, high-attention diagrams with sparse recovery time: Fine for veterans who never ignore AWS and who keep speeding penalties near zero (>5 mph over is enough to get taxed). Poor for first-week players who still mash E instead of shaping A/D brakes (controls).

If you repeatedly SPAD for three-point hits, demote yourself back to S-tier locals without ego.

How to choose tonight’s route

  1. Check patch notes on the Updates Hub for temporary weirdness.
  2. Decide role via roles overview.
  3. If Driver, pick one band easier than your ego wants.
  4. If Guard, prioritise stop density over scenery.
  5. If Passenger, pick whatever teaches station names you keep missing.
  6. Match stock from the trains tier list.

Crews, Discord, and listings

What routes do not fix

A hard route will not teach codes—there are no active promos (Codes Hub). A scenic route will not justify scripts (scripts). Only practice plus Tools Hub cheatsheets fix fundamentals.

Guides Hub · Players Hub · Coins and shop · Version 1.4

Pick the route that lets you finish proud. Finishing clean beats screenshotting a coastal sunset after three SPADs.

Night-before planning checklist

Before you commit Coins and an hour of attention, write a one-line plan: role, route band, train, and whether you want a Guard. If the plan says coastal but your last three sessions included SPADs, rewrite the plan toward S-tier locals. Ego is expensive in a score economy.

Share the plan in Discord voice if you crew with friends. A Guard who knows you intend every stop will run tickets more confidently, and a Driver who knows the Guard is learning doors will wait without tilting. That soft coordination shows up in payout screens even though it never appears as a named buff.

Weather, time-of-day, and attention

Roblox servers vary in chaos. Peak hours mean denser traffic and more ghosting edge cases after v1.4. Off-peak means quieter practice. Neither is universally better: Coin farmers may want busy Passenger loads; learners may want empty approaches. Re-rank a route mentally when the server mood changes instead of blaming the diagram.

Linking routes to controls drills

If a route tier note mentions brake-heavy work, open the controls page and drill A/D approaches for fifteen minutes before the timed run. If it mentions door chaos, drill with a Guard using how to guard. Tier lists without drills become wallpaper.

Final reminder

Routes do not owe you Coins. You owe the route clean aspect reading, station honesty, and AWS respect. Rankings only suggest where that honesty is easiest to practice first.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for British Railway drivers, guards, and passengers.

What route should beginners play first?

A short multi-stop local with calm signalling—not the hardest coastal extension on day one.

Which routes are best for Guard Coins?

Diagrams with many station calls, where procedures and tickets can repeat often.

Is Brynmouth good for farming?

It is excellent for scenery and practice variety, but not always the lowest-stress Coin farm for new Drivers.

Do route tiers assume a Guard?

Coin-focused A-tier notes assume a Guard helps; solo Drivers may prefer simpler S-tier locals.

Where do I see train priorities?

Use the sibling Trains Tier List and the Tier List Hub criteria page.
